It won't take long to separate pretenders from contenders in NASCAR's second-tier Nationwide Series. At last count, only a handful of fully funded drivers expect to contest the entire 35-race schedule, which begins Feb. 14 at Daytona International Speedway and ends Nov. 21 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Another handful of organizations will use a rotating driver lineup to pursue the owners' championship.
The driv-ers' championship favorites are Cup ringers Kyle Busch (Joe Gibbs Racing, Toyota) and 2007 champion Carl Edwards (Roush Fenway Racing, Ford) and Nationwide regular Brad Keselowski (JR Motor-sports, Chevrolet). Busch won 10 races last year, Edwards seven and Keselowski two, and each returns with the same team.
