Layoffs in other sectors may affect demand for Alaska products.

Listed Alaska Milk Corp. will not cut jobs this year, but continued layoffs in other industries could affect demand for its dairy products, its top official said yesterday.

"Our focus is on growing and developing our people," Alaska Milk President and Chief Executive Officer Wilfred Steven Uytengsu, Jr. told reporters on the sidelines of a Management Association of the Philippines event in Makati.

He said he did not expect demand for their products to fall substantially since these are basic goods bought by low- and mid-income consumers.
