Prosecutors have launched an investigation into Oita-based consultant company Daiko and two affiliates on suspicion they concealed more than 3 billion yen in income from major general contractor Kajima Corp. in connection with the construction of Canon Inc.'s factories in Oita.

A special investigation squad from the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office believes the money took the form of slush funds and commissions.
