Monday - Blackouts are common during the rainy season as flash floods wreak havoc on property in several parts of the Sultanate.

The Department of Electrical Services has been on alert 24/7 as its hotline is kept busy by calls from residents, who experienced power failure.

Awg Mohammed from the Department of Electrical Services, who holds the mobile phone for the hotline, told the Bulletin that one such case involved the repairs being done at the 11KV electric tower in Kampong Lugu.

He said the DES apologised to residents of Kampong Lugu for any inconvenience yesterday afternoon (Sunday) as DES officers had to cut the power supply to certain areas …
