Jan. 31--Olympian Peter Wylde and his mount Esplanade 7 won their first grand prix of the FTI Winter Equestrian Festival late Thursday night at the $30,000 WEF Challenge Cup Series in Wellington. The class was moved to late-night action to accommodate the $132,000 Exquis World Dressage Masters Global Tour stop that concludes today with sessions at 3 and 7 p.m. at Palm Beach International Equestrian Center. Wylde, a member of the 2004 U.S. Olympic gold medal team, topped a field of 57 in the opening round and 15 in the jump-off with back-to-back fault-free rounds.
