When the major opposition Democratic Party of Japan held a party convention Jan. 18, Social Democratic Party leader Mizuho Fukushima delivered a congratulatory speech as a guest of honor.

In the speech, she spoke enthusiastically about the importance of a joint struggle by opposition parties against the ruling camp.
