New Quest leads to mass defection from Lat Purser. (Quest Co. formed by former Lat Purser and Associates employees)

'Philosophical differences' main cause of 'pleasant' real estate firm divorce

Five real estate professionals and seven support staff members have left Lat Purser Florida's 13-person Orlando office to form their own company, Quest Co. of Longwood.

Besides stripping Lat Purser of almost its entire staff, Quest founding principals Stephen J. LaFreniere, James Gruber and Sue MacLarty also took with them 2 mil- lion square feet of leasing and management accounts they previously had brought to Lat Purser.

Well-known leasing/management specialists Julia Serena and Scott Corbin also went with Quest.

The move ends a three-year marriage between broker LaFreniere's SJL Management Co. of Longwood and 36-year-old Lat Purser & Associates Inc. of Charlotte, N.C. The two firms merged in spring …
