from THE JAKARTA POST -- FRIDAY, JANUARY 16, 2009 -- PAGE 3 Public servants' relatives can bid for state projects and do businesses related with public procurement, says President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
Yudhoyono, however, said this would only be allowable as long as there was a stricter over-sight scheme to avoid conflict of interest.
Yudhoyono said Thursday that relatives of public servants shared equal rights with other people to bid for and win projects, but should be under extra supervision due to the huge abuse potential.
