This study uses the United States Historical Climatology Network data set to assess climate change in Alabama over the twentieth century. Ten stations in the state have relatively complete data for this time period, for both temperature and precipitation. For each station and both variables, several measures of climate change are calculated. These are trends for the period 1901--2000, and changes in the mean and standard deviation for the period 1971 -2000 compared to 1901 -1930.
