Today's couples are into the planning of their special event, and because they are, the mood and style of the weddings have evolved into a more modern, trendy variation of the old traditions.

That's good news for the party retailer who can target their products and services to the wants and needs of their customers.

The usual catering halls are still popular, but more and more couples are opting for unusual settings to have their reception, places where they'll need a plethora of help in setting up and serving their guests. Unlike the 1960s, when the unusual place to get married was an open field, the '90s couple, is leaning more toward historic houses, museums, art galleries, airplane hangers, or a vacant warehouse.
