Kampala to Get Metropolitan Police.

THE Ministry of Public Service has approved a new structure for the Police Force, which provides for a Metropolitan department in Kampala.

The structure, according to the Inspector General of Police, Maj. Gen. Kale Kayihura, comes eight years since the old one was established.

A communication by Kayihura to Police units congratulated the Force upon getting the structure, which provides for 11 directorates and 58 departments.

Police spokesperson Judith Nabakooba yesterday said the Kampala area had been elevated to a directorate.
