Vavi warns against Cope's 'capitalist agenda' IN its end of the year message, Cosatu has warned its two million paid-up members against the newly formed Congress of the People, saying that if Cope succeeds it would disrupt and cripple the organised working class. In a 26-page letter to its members, outlining next year's challenges, Cosatu describes the formation of Cope as a result of what it says is a right-wing backlash led by a faction that has been driving a pro-capitalist agenda within the ANC and did not accept their defeat in Polokwane.
