from THE JAKARTA POST -- WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 31, 2008 -- PAGE 9 The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) claims it has recovered Rp 410 billion (US$36.5 million) worth of state assets from corruption cases during 2008.

"In total, we have returned Rp 410 billion to the state coffers from reclaimed non-tax income from corruption cases during the January to Dec. 15 period," KPK Chairman Antasari Azhar told reporters in Jakarta on Tuesday at the commission's year-end conference.

The recovered money included Rp 390 billion in substitutes, Rp 12.3 billion in confiscations, Rp 3.8 billion in compensation, Rp 2.6 billion in fines, Rp 537 million in income from …
