Many Palm Beach County road projects lost money in 2008.

Jan. 1--Many road construction projects took a hit in 2008 as funding for them dried up or shifted to other priorities.

County road projects lost a large amount of their gas tax money to county buses. Florida's Turnpike canceled a major widening in Palm Beach County planned in 2009 because of declining toll revenues. And the Florida Department of Transportation pushed back a few projects as state revenues declined.

But some road projects are proceeding as planned. Highlights of county projects include:
