White with black vinyl. V8, automatic. Said to have a brand-new crate motor; as a small-block, assumed to be 350 cid. Bad paint quality; looks as if a vacuum might have been used instead of a compressor. Plenty of overspray to most trim bits. Parts of interior well painted. A custom look that is different but not really pleasing. Good glass; decent tires.
SOLD AT $8,250
This is one of 53,807 Corvette coupes built in 1979, still the record build year for the Vette. The convertibles went on hiatus after 1975 and were restarted in 1986. White was the second most popular color after black in 1979. The base price new was $10,220.
