While the purpose of this video is not expressly stated, it was apparently produced to raise some of the ethical issues related to the media's role in health care. Two case studies are presented in which patients needed bone marrow transplants.

In the first case study, the insurance company felt that the bone marrow transplant is still an experimental therapy for breast cancer. After a great deal of media publicity, the insurance company changed its stand and agreed to cover the procedure.
