Hankyu Corp. has decided in principle to directly hire from October 2009 about 840 station and train crew who currently work for its subsidiary company, The Yomiuri Shimbun has learned.
Although the Osaka-based railway firm has made cost-cutting efforts by farming out station-related work to the subsidiary, it concluded that to strengthen its safety measures and boost worker morale, it was necessary to employ the workers directly.
