from THE JAKARTA POST -- THURSDAY, DECEMBER 18, 2008 -- PAGE 8 Home Minister Mardiyanto has called on newly sworn-in East Kalimantan Governor Awang Faroek and his deputy Farid Wadjdy to improve the oil- and timber- rich province's economy and education system.

"The governor must pay more attention to regencies in the border area with Malaysia. It's time we improved the East Kalimantan economy," Mardiyanto said Wednesday after presiding over the swearing-in ceremony at a plenary session of the provincial legislative council.
