ZAMBOANGA CITY - In an effort to deliver the message of peace through art, 20 local Muslim and Christian visual artists in the southern Philippines are mounting an exhibit at the National Museum Zamboanga at Fort Pilar, which will last until the end of the month.
More than 40 pieces are currently on display at the right wing of the centuries-old Spanish Fort-turned-museum. The exhibit, dubbed Artes y Paz (Arts and Peace), formally opened to the public on Dec. 1. The opening was attended by representatives from different religious groups, peace advocates and local officials.
