from THE JAKARTA POST -- TUESDAY, DECEMBER 16, 2008 -- PAGE 2 The Dutch Embassy in Jakarta has called on school administrators, teachers and parents to ensure a US$20 million grant from the Netherlands for the School Operational Aid (BOS) program be put to good use.

Ad Koekoek, the embassy's deputy chief of mission, said the grant, to be disbursed through the World Bank, was meant to support the Indonesian government's efforts to provide free basic education through to ninth grade for all children.

He added it would be used to inform the public about the purpose and function of the BOS program, strengthen the program's implementation at the school committee …
