An economic growth rate of 5.8 percent doesn't sound too bad, does it? It does if you're one of the technocrat-thugs who run China. The export- and investment-driven Chinese economy grew at an "official" rate (probably somewhat overstated) of 11.9 percent last year, but, thanks to the worldwide economic downturn, that number is falling fast, and projected to sink to 5.8 percent next quarter.
