PLANO - Columbia/HCA Healthcare Corp. has offered some doctors practicing in its North Texas Division a piece of the action.

Columbia executives are proposing to sell shares of the health care giant's North Texas Division to a select group of doctors in a private stock offering. Those doctors were invited to a Nov. 18 meeting to learn more about the plan.

The company is offering doctors shares in a pool worth up to 10% of Columbia's North Texas operations. Doctors could buy up to 10 units, each priced at $25,000, said a source who had read the offering and requested anonymity.
