Uganda - Uganda mobile base hits 2.7 mln, UTL promises new services.

Uganda had 2.7 million mobile phone subscribers at the end of last year, up from 2.24 million at the end of September, according to telecommunication regulator UCC. The number of fixed phone lines rose to 129,863 from 117,026 over the same period. Payphones increased to 12,889 from 12,025.
