Takeshi Koizumi, the man suspected of knife attacks at the homes of two former health ministry officials, has continued to insist during police questioning that he did it to avenge the euthanization of his childhood pet dog, following his rearrest on murder and attempted murder charges, police said.
The joint investigative headquarters set up by the Saitama prefectural police and the Metropolitan Police Department sent Koizumi to prosecutors Saturday afternoon on both charges.
