Two agencies cite need to promote natural family planning.

Two government agencies yesterday said there is a need to promote natural family planning among Filipinos.

In a press conference for the 2008 National Population Congress, Health Secretary Francisco T. Duque III said, "We need to raise awareness on natural family planning and make it widely available so we can give the full range of choices to parents."

He added natural family me-thods are cheap and encourages the male spouse's participation.

Commission on Population (PopCom) executive director Tomas M. Osias said his agency in tandem with local government units conduct classes on natural family planning. …
