Midem will hold its first international publishing summit next year, as the event looks to reflect the changing realities of the music business.
The event will take place on Tuesday, January 20, following MidemNet, with keynote speakers Imagem CEO Andre de Raaff and Peermusic CEO Ralph Peer II.
Midem director Dominique Leguern says that the summit reflects the growing importance of publishing in the music industry. "Publishing is a very, very important part of the business but we didn't have a proper summit for the publishers before and it has been evident that we should do so," she says, adding that the event will concentrate on the rights of the artists.
