[Presenter] A team of election observers from the Pan African Parliament [PAP] has arrived in the country ahead of the 7 December presidential and parliamentary elections.

The team is composed of 22 parliamentarians from all five regions of Africa. They will be supported by 15 staff from the PAP Secretariat and the Electoral Institute of South Africa. Members of the team will be deployed in all 10 regions.

The PAP was established in 2004 to promote human rights and democracy in Africa, and also encourage good governance in member states.
