Sverdrup Corp. is shortening the reach of its real estate arm and cutting loose the operation's director of development.

Five key professionals at Sverdrup Investments Inc., including director of development Kyle King, will lose their jobs by the end of the year in a corporate restructuring, said Sverdrup Corp. spokesman Jerry Bryan.

Bryan said the move is the result of a long-term evaluation of Sverdrup Investments, which has played a key role in the development of Riverport. Sverdrup Investments will continue to do development but on a much smaller scale, he said.

Bryan would not, however, comment on the overall number of staff members who are losing their jobs. But according …
