National polling company comes calling with 200 jobs

The Gallup Organization Inc. has come calling on Houston with plans to open a 200-person interviewing center in Bellaire.

Lincoln. Neb.-based Gallup, the country's oldest polling firm, has leased nearly 15,000 square feet of space in the 6750 West Loop South building, according to Lewis Partners Inc. broker Jim Pratt. who represented Gallup in the transaction.

Doug Barlow, director of interviewing for Gallup, says the new center will open in mid- to late December with between 50 and 60 employees and will eventually grow to more than 200 employees.
