UN says "last chance" for Ugandan rebel leader to sign peace pact.

A United Nations undersecretary-general warned Friday [28 November] of regional chaos, sucking in several countries, if the impending peace deal between the Ugandan government and the rebel Lords Resistance Army fails.

John Holmes, on a week-long visit to the Sudan that took in the troubled Darfur region, and the oil hotspot, Abyei, told reporters in Juba, the capital of Southern Sudan, that prospects for the rebels for signing a deal "are finally open, but it was the last chance".
