We should renew our pledge to fight this deadly disease, says Dr Subir Bhattacharya ON 28 September seminars and workshops were held all over the world to renew humanity's pledge to fight one of the deadliest of diseases - Rabies. Though the World Health Organisation has already declared 28 September as World Rabies Day, mass awareness is still precious little.

I visited Mrs Chatterjee at her Salt Lake residence on 28 September to convince her of the importance of vaccinating her fleet of pet cats. Despite my best efforts she hardly lent an ear. I only wish her cats could come to my clinic all by themselves.

Hope she would read my article and change her mind. …
