LAS VEGASMEXICAN HERIBerto Ruiz scored a unanimous decision win over Filipino Rey Boom Boom Bautista yesterday in their 8-round bout at the MGM Grand Garden Arena here.
Ruiz floored Bautista in the third with a left hook, and the Filipino was deducted a point by referee Robert Byrd in the seventh on low blows, as the Mexican earned the nod of all judges77-73, 78-72, 80-70.
Ruiz showed who was the boss early, cruising through the first two rounds using smart boxing and counter-punching.
