Islamabad, 19 November [Wednesday]: A special cabinet meeting held here on Wednesday with Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gillani in the chair to review overall economic situation, approved the country's home-grown economic stabilization plan and directed the Ministry of Finance to complete its negotiations with International Monetary Fund (IMF) for reaching a formal agreement.

The Cabinet deliberated upon single agenda item concerning the overall economic issues confronting the country in the wake of ongoing national and global financial crisis. The prime minister thanked and paid tribute to the penal of economists, the Adviser on Finance for working out such a comprehensive economic plan.

He specially mentioned the Adviser on Finance's endeavour to negotiate on Pakistan's own terms and conditions with the IMF. The prime minister said that good governance is the key of success as people have given us the mandate for change and …
