Iberia Airlines cargo division continues to prosper in Latin American trades.
While many air carriers are just starting to increase their Latin American cargo presence, Spain's Iberia Airlines has been in the market for years.
"Spain and Latin American fit like hand in glove," said Walter Colon, Iberia's cargo manager for North America. "We have a good understanding of the language, culture and economics of the region."
Besides operating under its own name, Madrid-based Iberia is the parent company of several Latin American-based airlines, including Aerolineas Argentinas, Ladeco Chilean, Viasa-Venezuelan International and Austral, a Argentinian domestic air carrier.
"We work closely with our subsidiary airlines, and feed freight into their networks when necessary," Colon said.
