Q You are one of the few politicians in Canada who have been successful in moving from business to politics and then back to business. What traits or skills are needed to make these transitions?

A The most important thing is to be always learning. You can't ever presume that you know it all. Although your experience is helpful, you must still remain open to new ideas and approaches. You also have to be able to work as a team player. And I guess I'm old-fashioned enough to believe in the value of simple hard work. Sixty-hour weeks go with the territory in both the public and private sectors.
