ElectricImage update set to embrace MP. (Electric Image's ElectricImage Animation System 2.75, ElectricImage Broadcast 2.75 3-D rendering and animation applications)(Product Announcement)(Brief Article)
ElectricImage designers with a need for speed will want to pick up a free upgrade of Electric Image Inc.'s 3-D rendering and animation package, which will have new processing options.
Version 2.75 of the $7,495 ElectricImage Animation System and $2,995 ElectricImage Broadcast packages, which will ship by year-end, will feature a multiprocessing rendering engine designed to take advantage of the dual- and quad-processor PowerPC-based Macs.
The new feature, called MP Camera, will divide single images into multiple parts and thread each part on a different processor for increased rendering speed.
The update will also let animators render on an unlimited number of Macs. Before, users were required to purchase rendering modules ...
