ITV is merging its online and programming divisions as it braces itself for a 9 per cent decline in ad revenues during the final quarter.
The restructure will see the departure of Jeff Henry, the managing director of ITV Consumer. Online assets such as ITV.com, Friends Reunited and ITV Local will be merged in with ITV Broadcast under Peter Fincham, the director of television, channels and online at ITV.
ITV said that the move would allow for greater co-operation between its broadcasting and online divisions.
The restructure came as ITV forecast a 9 per cent decline in its ad revenues for the final quarter of 2008 as uncertain economic conditions impact on advertisers.
The broadcaster said ad revenues for the first nine months of 2008 were down 2.5 per cent to pounds 1.041 billion, ahead of the total TV market, which was down 3.2 per cent.
