MALDA, July 29: Cattle smugglers clashed with some BSF personnel injuring a sub-inspector and an assistant commandant near the Mahedipur border out post, Bangladesh border in Malda district this morning.

Mr Narayan Singh (SI) and Mr Sitaram Rawat (AC) were admitted to the Malda district hospital this morning with head injuries from the attack by the cattle smugglers Trouble broke out about 3 a.m. when a group of cattle smugglers were trying to cross over to Bangladesh near the Loton mosque in Malda district and were chased by BSF personnel of 123-battalion.
