Ugandans who hold dual nationality or those who intend to adopt a new one while retaining their Ugandan identity can finally sigh with relief after the government yesterday tabled the long awaited Bill that will provide for dual citizenship.
Holding fort for Internal Affairs Minister Ruhakana Rugunda, who was curiously absent, the Government Chief Whip, Ms Kabakumba Matsiko, yesterday tabled for the first reading, the Uganda Citizenship and Immigration Control (Amendment) Bill 2008.
