Pervez Musharraf appeared on Pakistan's television yesterday and officially announced his resignation from the position of the president of that country in an address. When he appeared on the TV, everyone said in and outside Pakistan that he would announce his resignation. And this is what happened. His resignation was not something unexpected. But, it was a logical outcome of the struggle between the pro-democracy political parties and social organizations, and Musharraf over power.
