Baykonur, 30 October: One of the three Glonass-M satellites launched in September has become fully operational, a source at the Baykonur federal space centre told Interfax.

"One of the three Glonass-M satellites became operational several days ago. The information and analysis centre is working to start up the second satellite. That will happen within the next two weeks," the source said.

The satellites, designed and manufactured at the Information Satellite Systems in Zheleznogorsk, in Krasnoyarsk Territory, were carried into orbit by a Proton-M rocket …
