Ueda to skip Yonex after unlucky finger injury

Youngster Momoko Ueda decided to skip the Yonex Ladies starting today due to a finger injury she suffered during a charity event Wednesday.

The 22-year-old Ueda, who retuned to Japan after playing her first U.S. LPGA tour season, said Thursday morning that she lost part of the nail on her left middle finger and the digit also suffered some swelling.

The accident happened during a charity event aimed at raising money for guide dogs, when a dog Ueda was posing for photos with got spooked and ran off.
