In Kolkata youngsters are often persuaded to perform on stage but only a handful leave a good impression. The Bharatnatyam recital of Delhi-based Anupriya Guha at Rabindra Sadan was impressive and was a convincing interpretation of the temple dance, with due emphasis placed on the shastriya style. The promising dancer's first performance in Kolkata, under the auspices of Sanchita, was special. During her childhood, she was influenced by her maternal uncle and well-known singer Dhiren Bose.
