Section: General News - Tehran assured New Delhi that it would provide full security for the multi-bln-dollar gas pipeline which is due to take Iran's rich gas reserves to energy hungry Pakistan and India.
Responding to Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's appeal, Iran's ministry of foreign affairs said in a letter that the country would seek a tri-partite mechanism to reach an agreement with the aim of securing the pipeline at Pakistan-India border.
"Iran will seek to establish a trilateral mechanism to reaching an agreement with the aim of securing the delivery of gas at Pakistan- India border," the Iranian foreign ministry said in its letter, the Daily Express reported.
