Seoul, Sept. 2 (Yonhap) - South Korea downplayed Tuesday growing concern that its economy might face a "crisis" due to a massive exodus of foreign capital from the local bond markets this month.

In a hastily-arranged press meeting, Shin Je-yoon, deputy finance minister for international affairs, also told reporters that the state has enough funds to pay back maturing debts and has sufficient foreign reserves to cope with any financial contingencies.
