Police on Sunday used live bullets and teargas to disperse a peaceful public rally in Mityana Town.
Area MP (Mityana South), Jerome Kaddumukasa had convened the rally to address boda boda cyclists who had complained to him about harassment by Police and local leaders.
Violence erupted at 3pm after police led by the Regional Police Commander (RPC), Mr Alfred Bitwire, ordered the gathering to leave the venue in 20 minutes.
Angered by the directive, the boda boda cyclists marched towards the police station prompting officers to retaliate.
