Kiboga Council Okays Creation of Kyankwanzi District.

Kiboga District councillors have passed a motion supporting the creation of Kyankwanzi District out of Kiboga. The motion was passed during a council meeting presided over by the speaker, Mr Lawrence Bazanye last Friday.

Kyankwanzi comprises seven sub-counties with a total population of about 150,000 people mostly pastoralist. Moving the motion, the Wattuba Sub-county councillor, Mr Wilson Konde said Kyankwanzi has lagged behind in development compared to other areas in the district partly because the district leadership has neglected it.
