Tokyo, 4 September: Japan Broadcasting Corp. said Thursday [4 September] a total of 13 private firms including Microsoft Corp., NTT Communications Corp. and major TV broadcasters are expected to buy into its subsidiary due to begin round-the-clock, English-language broadcasting service for overseas viewers in February.

The public broadcaster, known commonly as NHK, said it hopes to enlist the know-how of the prospective investors operating in the information technology business. It also said it will consider airing programmes produced by non-NHK broadcast firms investing in the subsidiary, Japan …
