Naval sailor Virat Sharmas family decided to donate his organs after his death on 24 October following a road accident on 18 October when he sustained severe head injuries. Viratsfather Mr SKSharma and other family members made this noble gesture despite the grief they had to undergo. The liver was transplanted to a serving soldier who was suffering from liver failure due to BuddChiariSyndrome, a condition where the veins of the liver are blocked.
