THE conditions were much tougher but that didn't deter Ben Leong from strengthening his grip on the Terengganu Masters as he widened his lead by another shot to seven yesterday.

The more difficult pin positions, the tee box being pushed back and the sea breeze getting gustier in the later part of the morning resulted in only eight players going below par in the third round with Ben leading the way with a four-under 68.

Ben, who teed off on the front nine, eagled the 516-metre par five.
